Shantha was started by visionary promoters with the help of top-class scientists working in India and abroad, to research India's first r-DNA technology based human healthcare product in 1993. Within four years, their dedication, passion and unbeatable spirit led to the commercialization of Shanvac ? - B an r-DNA technology based Hepatitis-B vaccine. Thus, Shantha became the first Indian biopharmaceutical company of India.
Today Shantha is the fist Indian company to get its Hepatitis-B vaccine pre-qualified by WHO, Geneva, for supplying to UN agencies globally.
Shantha has pioneered another recombinant product, interferon alpha 2b, launched under the brand name Shanferon?.

We are Manufacturers of Vaccine for Hepatitis B. We Provide services for 1.Molecular cloning and expression of native and synthetic genes in a variety of systems like bacterial, yeast, insect and mammalian cells. 2.Development and characterisation of cell lines for the production of recombinant products for diagnostic or therapeutic use. 3.Polyclonal and monoclonal antibody development against any desired antigen. 4.Production and purification of monoclonal antibodies from ascitic fluid as well as from cultured mammalian cells. 5.Fermentation process development for recombinant proteins from diverse host systems including bacteria, yeast, insect and mammalian cells. 6.Formulation of adjuvant-based vaccines and lyophilization of Biologicals. 7.Large scale production of proteins upto kilogram quantities for pre-clinical and clinical use under GMP conditions.
