Prabhat Agri Biotech Limited (PABL) is a well established Seed Company located in Hyderabad, India. PABL is a professionally managed Company promoted by technocrats with wide ranging experience in various aspects of seed Industry. The Technical competence of the Directors coupled with their ability to understand the intricacies of seed business has helped the Company to grow at a very steady pace. The Board of Directors of the Company are Sarva Sri M.Prabhakar Rao, Chairman; D.V.Ranga Rao, Managing Director; Dr.P.Sateesh Kumar, Director (Research) and M.Venkat Ramaiah (Director). Three of the directors have Master?s Degree in Agriculture (M.Sc. (Agrl.)) and one is a Doctorate in Agriculture. They acquired rich and varied experience in the seed industry over the past several years. A team of experienced employees rendering Managerial and technical services to the Company assists the Board of the Company. PABL is engaged in Production, Research and Marketing of quality seeds of cereal, oil seed, forage and vegetable crops.
PABL aims to produce and market 'quality seeds' of various crops and contribute to increased agricultural production. The Company is devoted to development of novel and productive varieties and hybrids of various crops by using a combination of conventional and modern techniques of genetics and plant breeding. The Company is run professionally by a team of competent and qualified entrepreneurs.
PABL has a strong Research & Development Unit which is recognized by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR, New Delhi). The germplasm was acquired from both International and National Research Institutes and Universities like ICRISAT, TNAU, UAS, PAU, ICAR, CICR, CIMMYT, APAU, USDA, AVRDC, Universities of NEBRASKA, MISSISIPPI, IOWA, ILLINOIS, North Dakota State & Plant Breeding Institute of Netherlands.
PABL has successfully launched several proprietary hybrids in the Indian market in Cotton, Bajra, Maize, Jowar, Sunflower and Vegetable Crops. PABL has a strong presence in the seed export market especially in custom seed production by taking advantage of the climate, year round crop production possibilities and availability of skilled labour in India. PABL intends to harness modern biotechnological tools like tissue culture for crop improvement.
