Description :
Calcium is essential for all chlorophyll containing plants. It is also necessary for cell division. It stimulates the development of root hairs and promotes the activity of chloroplasts.
Deficiency of calcium results in chlorotic patches at the leaf margin in young leaves. Calcium deficiencies cause rapid disintegration of the growing tips of roots and shoots in many plants. Seed formation is hindered or inhibited.
To correct all normally occurring calcium deficiencies, a foliar spray of 1gm/litre solution on crops after obtaining sufficient foliage is recommended. Exact dosage depends on the plant health and local soil conditions.
